RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 17 Recap: Gags, Glam, and the Road to the Crown!

Season 17 of RuPaul’s Drag Race has been nothing short of sickening—a whirlwind of wigs, wit, and wild drama that had us gagged week after week. With the grand finale just around the corner, all eyes are on our top four queens: Jewels Sparkles, Sam Star, Onya Nerve, and Lexi Love—each serving charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent in spades.

But honey, let’s talk about the journey to the crown…

💥 The Drama Was REAL

From the jump, Season 17 brought the heat. Early fan favorite Crystal Envy had jaws on the floor with her shocking elimination in episode seven following a dreadful Snatch Game. The fandom is still recovering as she was consistently in the top up to that point .

And then there was Arrietty, the shady queen of confessionals, who stirred the pot like she was cooking gumbo. Not only did she lift Jewels Sparkles’ jokes during the Roast (and tried to pass them off as her own, no less), but her now-infamous mirror message—”Girl get over yourself you aren’t Eve. A good Queen you’re the villain I swear. As one smelly b*tch to another, Onya please brush your teeth.”—will go down in Drag Race herstory.

💅 Gag-Worthy Moments

You could feel the tension in the werkroom when Onya Nerve made her move and snatched Jewels Sparkles’ fabric right off the design table in the ball challenge. Let’s just say glue guns weren’t the only weapons that day. But somehow, Jewels still turned it out on the runway—true queen energy.

And speaking of heartache, Susie Toot’s elimination just before the final four was a blow to many fans. After slaying the roast challenge and showing such growth throughout the season, watching her sashay away felt like losing a sister. #JusticeForSusie

✨ The Final Four Are Ready to SLAY

Now, it’s down to the fiercest four:

  • Jewels Sparkles – Consistent runway slays, sharp wit, and unshakeable poise, cementing her status as a frontrunner from the very first episode.
  • Sam Star – Polished, poised, and practically a pageant queen robot. She’s been in the top more times than Ru changed outfits this season.
  • Onya Nerve – Drama magnet, yes—but also a high-fashion risk-taker who keeps proving the haters wrong.
  • Lexi Love – The dark horse with undeniable stage presence and a lip-sync assassin if there ever was one.

As we head into the grand finale this weekend, one thing is certain: these queens are ready to battle for the title of America’s Next Drag Superstar—and we’ll be watching with popcorn, pumps, and a prayer fan in hand.

Stay tuned, squirrel friends—this race ain’t over just yet. 💃👑
