A poignant moment during the convention was the tribute to The Vivienne, the inaugural winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, who tragically passed away on January 5, 2025, at the age of 32. RuPaul honored her memory during the opening ceremony, stating, “We want to focus on love and we are going to remember our dear The Vivienne with love, life, and happiness because that’s what she was all about.” Additionally, a memorial booth was set up for attendees to pay their respects.

The convention also showcased the “Girl Groups Ru-United” performance, marking the first time Drag Race girl groups reunited on the main stage. Notable performances included the Frock Destroyers, known for their hit “Break Up Bye Bye,” and the United Kingdolls, famed for “UK Hun?”. These acts energized the crowd, celebrating the musical talents that have emerged from the Drag Race series.
RuPaul’s DragCon UK 2025 successfully blended heartfelt tributes with vibrant performances, reinforcing the unity and resilience of the drag community.
