In a bid to galvanize the LGBTQ+ community ahead of the upcoming elections, President Joe Biden‘s re-election campaign has rolled out a new initiative titled “Out for Biden-Harris.” This campaign aims to bolster civic engagement among LGBTQ+ voters and highlight the strides made by the Biden administration in advancing rights for the community.

Vice President Kamala Harris, in a video announcing the initiative, echoed the sentiments of LGBTQ+ activist Harvey Milk, emphasizing the importance of raising voices to secure rights. President Biden himself emphasized his commitment to LGBTQ+ rights, affirming that they are inherent human rights.

The “Out for Biden-Harris” initiative intends to showcase the accomplishments of the Biden administration in championing the rights of LGBTQ+ Americans. Campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez emphasized the significance of LGBTQ+ voters, highlighting their pivotal role in securing victory in the previous election and underscoring their importance in the upcoming one.

The campaign is actively seeking engagement from various segments of the LGBTQ+ community, including drag queens, elected officials, and LGBTQ+ faith leaders. Notable figures like actor Wilson Cruz and openly gay Democratic Rep. Robert Garcia are poised to contribute to the initiative.

Rodriguez emphasized the urgent need for the LGBTQ+ community to mobilize against the threats posed by former President Donald Trump and his allies. She stressed that LGBTQ+ rights are under attack, citing the agenda to roll back protections and erase LGBTQ+ history. Rodriguez underscored President Biden and Vice President Harris’s commitment to upholding the dignity and freedoms of all Americans, including pressing for the passage of the Equality Act.

As the “Out for Biden-Harris” initiative gains momentum, it stands as a testament to the Biden administration’s dedication to fostering inclusivity and equality for the LGBTQ+ community. With the support of LGBTQ+ voters, the campaign aims to secure another term in office, ensuring continued progress and advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights at the highest levels of government.
